Drag and drop AAX sampler
I decided to make the jump from writing in Cubase and mixing in Pro Tools to doing everything in Pro Tools now the MIDI side of Pro Tools has been improved, I'm using 2019
One thing that is important to me is to be able to drag and drop audio into a sampler. I like messing around with sound design for say 10 minutes and then grab little snippets and drop them into the sampler. I was using the bundled light version of Groove Agent in Cubase. Anyway enough of the background! I am looking for a list of drag and drop AAX samplers, if there are any where I can drag audio straight out of the edit window into the sampler.

After doing some more research the question I realise I needed to ask is,
Did they ever add drag and drop functionality to AAX? I have seen a few posts saying that they hoped they would add it back as far as 2013 but no mention of it ever happening.

Sadly there is no such sampler... at least I‘m not aware of. I looked for quiet a while but didn’t find anything . It used to work with structure I think but I was told because of a bug. May be a rumour. But it shows it could be done. It’s very sad, that there is no such thing. I am sure there would be quite a user base for this functionality amongst sound designers. I would definitely be in...

I'd be tempted to say (and I'm just guessing here) that there's a PT reason why there isn't drag and drop...
For instance, you *can* drag and drop audio into NI Maschine from the timeline in Ableton, but not in PT. That functionality doesn't work.... Suggests there's a PT issue here?

I am pretty astounded that such a simple but very useful feature that I used regularly in Cubase isn't possible in Pro Tools. I hope they can address it one day maybe by bundling their own sampler with Pro Tools if 3rd party support isn't an option.
