But if the issues mentioned above are true (and I'm sure they are) then it might explain the very long delay. I just wonder how well it will work. Fingers crossed, because the concept is strong.
It’s kind of working already I suppose, at least at basic level. I’m inclined to think it was a good move to integrate Melodyne in stages. The audio to MIDI conversion thing seems quite stable so personally, I’m reasonably optimistic ARA2 will be fine in PT and VERY welcome. The integration is already part way there.

I've used it in Logic quite a bit, trouble-free. I can't wait to have it in PT.

It's been rock solid in Studio One Pro. There were some issues in Nuendo last year, but Steinberg seems to have worked it out.

Fingers crossed. let's hope PT remains stable through all the changes. Avid has a way of breaking old stuff when introducing new features. There are already serious MIDI things broken in 22.6/22.7 that are waiting to be fixed.

They word it as "ARA2 Melodyne" support. So it will only work with Melodyne? There are a few other ARA2 capable plugins.

I'm guessing 2022.9 or 2022.10 are quite reasonable guesses. They have a photo of Scheps using it as advertising, so it's working already. My guess is it will be out once Apple release Ventura, and it'll have silicon native support - it doesn't make sense to do any foundational overhaul/integration coding like this and not do silicon at the same time, especially as Apple will drop rosetta support in the future - rosetta is only a bandaid, and Avid know that they have to have a stable native version before Apple rip the bandaid off.

As far as other plugins, I think Izotope alluded to ARA integration for RX10 as a new workflow, so I doubt Avid mean anything other than Celemony's spec of ARA will be supported, as it's partially their technical platform/standard that they developed.

I'm thinking that is going to be an even longer wait.

Thought this was worth highlighting:

As excited as I am to share this upcoming Melodyne integration with you, I also want to call out that the team working on ARA is located in Ukraine. Many of the developers and testers who pushed the buttons to make this integration a reality did so during insanely uncertain and turbulent times. Credit should go where credit is deserved. Hats off to the team!
That's the first time I've noticed Avid directly address this, and it's good to see.
