Default Trouble with TiBook 550/667! Digi???

Hi!

I read several posts about problems with the TiBook 550/667 with the digi 001 AND with tdm systems (error-6042 (PCI bus too slow error)).
Is the the new TiBook already approved by digi? I heard rumors about a new PCI architecture by apple... but I´m not sure.
I wanted to switch to TiBook with PT but if I have to pray for it to run properly it´s not the solution.

Digi, can you tell me???

or anyone else?

Markus

Personally, I'm in Lawrence Kansas at the moment, visiting some friends from college. We're looking forward as always to basketball season, after KU's 59-0 loss yesterday to Texas.

But about your first question...
We have not qualified the newest Powerbook models yet:
http://www.digidesign.com/compato/pt24g4pb.html

Last I heard on Friday was that Magma is talking with Apple to determine if there is a difference or problem with the new Tibooks that would effect the way the Magma chassis works. I don't know that this has been absolutely determined yet. I also don't know that we have the new models in our engineering and test department yet. So I don't know a whole lot at the moment, but Digi, Magma, and Apple are looking into it.

I expect Magma will have the answers first since they do the majority of testing with their chassis and our cards as well as those of other manufacturers, but we will pass along whatever information that we have as soon as it is available to us.

I'm having the same problem with the new Titanium and the Magma chassis with the Atto card - PCI error 6042. Firewire works fine. I was told that 2 other users have had success with the Adaptec card. Will that work? Anybody tried that?

Magma has told us that if you have this configuration ( new TI and Magma chassis) to please give them a call. They want to gather as much information as possible, as well as help provide some solutions. We don't have any more specifics than that at this time, but they will be able to help more.

Hi!

I just got information from magma that the adaptec 2906 works fine and that some people get a track count of up to 64 with tdm systems and firewire drives...
That sounds good to me!!!
