I have the original Sonnet and in nearly a year Iíve never heard the fan and Iím using Samsung M.2s which run quite hot. Itís been super fast and super reliable.

The new version also supports double sided M.2s which the original didnít without a sketchy DIY modification. That meant you were pretty much stuck with Samsung blades.

All four sticks are stripped as one 8TB RAID 0. Iím using the whole thing for Kontakt streaming. For Pro Tools audio I have another stick on a single channel x4 NVMe PCIe adapter. This simply wires the NVMe stick directly into the motherboardís PCIe bus but only supports one stick. Thereís no controller chip or anything. Itís super fast though and gets maximum speed from the NVMe.

Nice. I'll give it a try on raid for one whole volume for tracking and see how it runs.
