Default 2 LE systems as one...

I might be ridiculous, and I probably would never use this. As the big studios do, syncing two TDM rigs together for a DX mix and an FX mix, or other things of that sort. Would it be possible for one machine to have a 002 system and another machine to have an MBox system, and somehow clock them together. I'm thinking of a machine control type thing, when I hit play on one machine, it'll cue up the other and play both together. Anyways, thanks for listening and for the help.

It's actually really straight-forward to do this using Midi Time Code (MTC). You just have to set your Master machine to send MTC and the Slave to sync to it. I don't have Pro Tools here in front of me and I can't remember the name of the menu you need to open so hopefully someone else can fill in the blanks here.

Yep pretty straight forward when using MTC. I've done the same thing withh an 001 and an Audiomedia III card.

Man, that's awesome! I'll try it out tonight and let you know how "straight forward" it is. Very excited to hear that though!! Thank you.

Don’t forget to send SP/dif from one to another & set slave to digital (sync).

yeah dude i did it with 001 and 001. yeah, it's called spdif sync. in to out and same with midi, set the master, set to mtc, had to do something with the spdif, sync internal on one of them... had a pc and a mac. audio outs to ins on one of the units and it's flawless. did an entire professional album on it. when bouncing though, we had about 30ms latency and actually had to "scoot" the entire session on the slave around a bit, but dude... it works, it's just not promoted for obvious reasons.
