Changing Tempo of song when using audio samples?
Ive tried to figured this out on my own. But nothing seems to works. Im using samples and everything is synced up perfectly BUT I wont to speed up this track. But everytime I try to do this all the midi tracks speed but the audio sample stay the same. I used the sample / tick button but doesnt seem to work. How do you speed up the entire song including the samplles/audio.?

Re: Changing Tempo of song when using audio samples?
you'll have to use something like the time-compression/expansion plugin to compress/expand your audio samples to the new bpm. changing the tempo only affects midi stuff, you have to change the audio separately. if you have serato pitch 'n time, that sounds Really good, though the default protools ones are decent most of the time.

Re: Changing Tempo of song when using audio samples?
Unless the audio samples you are using are REX or ACID files (or you imported them incorrectly), then tick based tracks will do you no good. You will have to time expand the audio (using the TCE tool) to the grid after changing the tempo. With the current version of Pro Tools, this can not only get pretty tedious, but can sometimes have negative results when it comes to the audio quality. (You really need to know what you're doing and why when time expanding audio, and you need to be using a quality TCE tool).
The new version of Pro Tools (7.4) that will be released next month includes the new "elastic audio" feature that will make the task you are attempting much, much easier to do within Pro Tools.

Re: Changing Tempo of song when using audio samples?
This is so odd to me. It seem like something that would have been made easier to do a loooooooooooooong time ago. Oh Well
So for now I can first import the audio in to SOny Acid and then in to Pro tools And I be able to manipulate the tempo normally? |
