Default Re: Kontakt 5 standalone - no sound with my midi keyboard

Noup, I don't have such adaptor : (

My keyboard works in other programs like reason, reaktor, etc, even in kontakt in plug in mode.

I've contact NI support. I'm waiting for a answer. If you wake up with any other idea about this, please, let me know. Thanks anyway : )

Sorry I couldn't help more. It may be worth calling NI if you need an urgent response - emails can take weeks to get a reply... :-/

I have the same problem with Digi 003 Factory audio interface, CME UTF8 and Win 8 Pro 64 bit.

My observations:
- in MIDI settings when I put my MIDI device 'FW 003 MIDI 1' OFF and then again to PORT A, Kontakt 5 receives MIDI signal and I can actually play the sound while the MIDI settings windows is open! Immediately when I close the window => no MIDI signal. Other MIDI devices on the list doesn't give any signal.

- Kontakt 3 => works with MIDI device called 'CME UF', which is MIDI over USB, but 'FW 003 MIDI 1' won't give any signal

- Battery 3 => no MIDI signal from any device at all

- Absynth 5, Reaktor 5 => works fine

If you open up your options in Kontakt and click the "handling" tab, you'll see close to the bottom of the window a drop down menu next to "MIDI channel assignment for loaded patches". Change this to "omni" and any MIDI input you have connected to your computer should play your instruments. You can also select "omni" after loading an instrument as well on the instrument panel itself but it's easier to just set it to omni in the options and forget about it.

Hope this helps, cheers.

Can you load the Kontakt MIDI monitor multiscript? This will help you see if the issue is Kontakt itself or a setting in the instruments you are trying to play.

See screen shots.

If you have the correct port set for your MIDI keyboard, this tool will help you see what MIDI information kontakt is getting from it.

I discovered Kontakt 5 has a bug. the problem with sound is directly related with the program. the speakers for my computer dont emit sound from anything other than kontakt 5 while its open. The sound will not cooperate in the program. I can change the instrument from piano to guitar but the sound dose not change. If I shutdown the program and reopen it that will sometimes work or it might not. the sound in this program can have a number of issues. not work on external keyboard, work on external but not internal. the sound on internal and external is not the same or flat out not work at all. once the program in closed the sound problems are gone. this program most of the time wont let me record from from another program because it wont let any other program have sound while its open. kontakt 5 does not have a recorder in the program so i have to use another program but how can i do that when it screws up the internal sound to any other program. this program is garbage, if you pay for it stop and if you can get a refund. save the hassle and get a program that works properly all the time.
