Los Angeles Rail Yard for field recording
hey guys.. been here for 15 years but am clueless as to where to locate a working rail yard to grab some ambiance with my field recorder. Anyone have any ideas? Looked on google maps and was thinking of heading down to San Pedro/Long Beach near the ports. Any specific location info is welcomed!
cheers! -andy |

Quote:
Also East Washington Blvd near the 710 freeway is a good area, and also north main street near the Brewery. Rail traffic might be slow over the holiday.

Re: Los Angeles Rail Yard for field recording
Have you thought of contacting someone at Union Sation? There's also one in San bernardino... 1535 West 4th St. 94210... It's about a hour or so outside of LA proper (10 to the 215 to Viaduct), but it's huge, and very much in use!
Hope this helps, Nathan
