ProTools Randomly Freezes functions

HI !

Im working mixing sessions with Reason 4, EWQLSO symp.orch. , Xpand midi triggered and audio tracks with digirack and waves plugins , then suddenly and randomly i cant no longer acces the funtions on Plugins Screen . Some basic funtions have a wrong response and i cant no longer
use the keyboard !

I have had this same issue with Waves plugins and recently (since PT8) Xpand has done the same thing. The plugins don’t respond at all other than to occasionally snap to a default setting. A restart of PT is needed to resume work. Waves tech support says this is not a known issue. It’s almost comforting to know I’m not the only one on Earth with this problem.

Well, 6.0.8 is the latest from waves, so I would at least start by updating that.

Yes the installer is waves essentials 6.0.8 is the last release from waves .

Maybe it use the same waveshell 6.0.6 ?

I think is something with reason and waves .
I installed waves again to be shure and after that i open a session with both plugs BUT PT couldnt find reason in the PT plugins folder

So i have to resart PT BUT is really strange because in normal use i dont see a reason plugin in the DAE folder because its rewire ?
I saw a digirewire.dpm in plugin DAE plugs folder and both plugs : reason and waves have rewire . Maybe is the rewire ?

But why PT throw that error ?

We have the latest Waves, but this has been going on since V5. The Xpand issue is new though.

OK !

I still have the problem BUT less . I made some things thats improve the PT performance a LOT.

I erased all the rewire.dll in my pc and then installed a 1.7 standalone version from propellerheads website .

I noticed that the installation creates a file in the windows prefecth folder . So it makes me thinks and i remember that i emptied the folder as part of a troubleshoothing . So i google it ( windows prefecth folder ) and found in some articles that is not recomemded to empty it at least the Layout.ini file . So i restore it and PT now is working a LOT better . I dont have the false start thing at least . Only have the problem in waves plugins functions .
