Access Code Violation
Hi ,
I have a IBM desktop with Intel core 2 duo processor (Windows XP) 1GB ram, and Protools 6.9 with digi002 . I keep getting this 'Access code Violation ' error while working on the protools ...it shows up either at the starting of the protools( when protools is loading ) or sometimes while i am working on a session . The program completly stops to respond and i have to use the ' ctrl+ alt+del' to shut down the program and start it again .... and when i start it up for the second time the digi002 stops to respond .. So i have to restart the whole system to get the protools and the digi002 working . It would be a great.. if someone could help me out with this problem , bec it is very annoying and it sometimes results in loss of the work on which i was working . Thank you |

Re: Access Code Violation
OK, first; it's not Access code violation, it's "Access Violation".
Access violations can be caused by quite a number of different issues, including but not limited to, out of date plugins, using illegal ("cracked") versions of plugins, compressed files on the hard drive, hard drive errors, unsupported hardware, etc. So, some quick things to check;
To even start to help you further, though, we need to know exactly what we're working with. You should first read through the General Troubleshooting - Pro Tools 6 & 7 Win XP thread. Some of the suggestions there might help, but if not, there are instructions for how to post the information we need to help you. We need both a Sandra report, and a report of what plugins you have installed using the Tech Support Utility in the Tech support folder that thread recommends downloading.
