Default Promo plugin software not transferrable??

OK, this one was news to me. I'm curious as to whether or not anyone else is aware of this. I purchased a used Access Virus (here). The price was good, the seller was great to deal with, I have two auth disks etc etc. This Virus was originally part of a mixpack promo. The seller sent a registration transfer with his section filled in. I filled in mine and faxed it in.

I recieved an email from Digi customer service which stated: 'the software indicated was promotional (as opposed to purchased by original registrant) and is not transferrable.'

I replied (though I obviously haven't heard back since it was friday night) asking if they meant that the registration was non-transferrable, or that the software licence itself was non-transferrable...though it sounds like they mean the latter.

What's especially odd is that the promo IS transferrable with the entire system. I know because mine was transferred to me when I bought my system used.

In any case, I would imagine that, should I need a replacement authorization due to a disk crash or something...I'd probably be outta luck.

I looked at all the paper work that came with my mixpack, and saw no mention of this. If Digis web site states this, it must be well hidden...I couldn't find it. The registraion page says nothing.

Not only does the page explaining the promo not state this, but it touts the promo as a value of $xxxx, where $xxxx is the combined retail of fully transferrable boxed versions of the plugins.

C'mon guys. What's up..

Tom
