static sound coming from monitors
hey guys.. i have an external hd connected to my pc via USB. the hd is strictly for audio. anyway whenever the hd is in operation (the light is flashing.. it is retrieving data) i get this static sound from my monitors, almost as if someone mic'ed the sound coming from the hd and it was playing through my monitors. i have the daw, monitor and hd all plugged into a the same powerstrip, but seperate from everything else. the sound is not loud but a bit annoying..
how can i get rid of this?

Re: static sound coming from monitors
try moving the drive and wire away from the monitors. I plug my firewire drive into a seperate outlet and have never heard this noise. My drive is usually 2-3 feet away from the speakers(along with my tower which is on cable extensions).
