duplicating midi/inst regions auto-joins regions?

I just upgraded to PT8 from 6.4 so maybe I'm missing something but when I duplicate a region on a Structure (free) instrument track, the regions auto-heal somehow and become one larger region. Or, if I copy/paste/move one region to the end of another, they become one region as if they are auto-consolidating.

[edit] Appears to be happening only on the main instrument track for Structure-free when used in multi-timbral mode. Here's what happened: 1. Created new instrument track, instantiated Structure. Created 2 more tracks, selected same structure for multi-timbral. Recorded on first structure track and then the editing peculiarities began as mentioned above. Didn't seem to happen on the secondary Structure tracks...
