Default Anyone with VocALignLE in PT 8 on Windows 7 ??

PT 8.01 is working fine for me with an MBox 2 Mini on my Windows 7 Professional 32 bit Thinkpad T60p system.

My only real problem is, that VocALignLE will freeze PT's startup after the first time it has been scanned.

That means the first time I start PT after having deleted C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\DAE Prefs\Installed plug-ins and all plugins get scanned at startup, PT will start when VocALignLE.dpm is in it's Plug-Ins directory.

But the next time (after the "Installed plug-ins" file has been written with an entry for VocALignLE) it will freeze on VocALignLE.dpm the same way many people have seen it with Structure.dpm. And no IE8 here, I've uninstalled it.

Anyone else have the same issue that PT freezes on VocALignLE.dpm?

VocALignLE worked fine for me and didn't cause PT startup the get frozen when I had Vista Ultimate and XP Pro on that laptop.

Since PT8 has Elastic Audio, I can't see spending several hundred dollars to do what I can now do for free. Maybe I would feel different if I had already used Vocalign(only watched some crappy videos on it).

Yep! I craved Vocalign after I started recording on my own, (the studio I worked at had it), but EA has solved that.

What is the difference between time alignment and phase alignment?

Well actually VocALign gets very accurate results pretty fast.. much better than aligning each double take's syllable by hand. MUCH faster! And often times more accurate...

But that was not the question ;-)

Any people who actually have VocALignLE and use Pro Tools 8 LE on Win7 ?

Capture the audio as a MIDI groove file, then apply it to the track you want to align with EA. Should lock the 2 together perfectly.

I've done it many times with drums and key parts. :)
