Order of Plug-ins in Pull Down Menu
I know this might seem trivial, but is there a way to customize whatorder the plug ins appear when the menu is pulled down? I would presume it would be in Alphabetical order, but no. Any setting to change this?

Re: Order of Plug-ins in Pull Down Menu
-Plug-in "organization" (maybe not the best choice of words in this case, hence the quotes) is accomplished by the plug-in cache. As new plug-ins are installed, the plug-in cache is updated to include each new plug-in.
-If you trash the DAE preference folder, you may see a change in your plug-in listing the next time Pro Tools is launched. This is due to the fact that whenever the plug-in cache is rebuilt, plug-ins are listed according to their company ID (no, I do not know what the company ID's are for each plug-in vendor). Other than that, there is, no method being used by the Pro Tools software to organize plug-ins in a more "human way" (i.e. effect type, alphabetical order, etc). There is, however, an undocumented method of artificially arranging the plug-in list by placing subfolders in the DAE Folder>Plug-Ins Folder. Create a folder within the DAE Folder>Plug-Ins Folder and label it "Dynamics". Now place all your dynamics-type plug-ins within that folder. Next time you launch Pro Tools, you will see that all your dynamics plug-ins will be listed first. Now create a second folder and call it "EQ". Do the same and re-launch. Note that all your EQs come first and your Dynamics plug-ins next. The reason why EQ plug-ins are listed first is due to reading the folder labels in alphabetical order. NOTE: -If you do create sub-folders to help better organize your plug-ins, please be aware that the Pro Tools Installer does not recognize these embedded folders. Therefore, if/when you ever upgrade your version of Pro Tools, it will not move the older plug-in files to the "Obsoleted Digidesign Software" folder...and will cause problems. You will have to move them manually (and reorganize the new plug-in files in the proper folders). Brent |

Re: Order of Plug-ins in Pull Down Menu
Good ideas..however....

Therfore Dynamics should come before EQ, no? Or is it reverse Alphabetical order? Also, will the plug ins appear as a sub menu of the pull down Menu, since there are in a sub folder? Thanks! (sorry, id do it myself, but im not anywhere near my studio to test it out)
