Does anybody have any recommendations for soft synths for use with HD? I think that the plug-in synths might be best for me for ease of use with HD and instant recall, so I am considering Unity AS-1, Virus Indigo, and McDSP Synthesizer One. I am looking for a wide variety of sounds, from basic to crazy.

I'm gonna get the new atmosphere plugin from Spectrasonics coming next week. 3 gigs core lib dedicated only to synth samples with a great interface. Can't miss!!

of the one mentioned I would go with the Virus Indigo. But if you don't mind the streammanager delay NI's Absynth by Brian Clevinger is THE softsynth, period...
