Default The bundled plugins and instruments don’t offer any other format?

I’m just curious to know if the included bundled plugins offer other format such as VST or they AAC only exclusively for Pro Tools? I notice a lot of them can be bought as VST also, I was just wondering if they included then also or not. Mostly plugins come with the options of each format. I just didn’t see with these.

Avid has absolutely no financial incentive to develop their products for other platforms. For them, it’s Pro Tools or nothing, as it should be.

I hazard a guess that the plugins to which you are referring are from AIR. Avid owned AIR at one time, but since selling them off, AIR is free to develop their wares for all platforms while maintaining a deal with Avid to provide the AAX only instruments and plugins that go in the bundle included with Pro Tools.

Thank you. I thought I see some of their VI available as vst also like mini grand etc. Could be wrong though. Yea I was thinking the air would include the vst versions but wishful thinking! Lol

You can buy all the Air VIs in AU and VST formats directly from Air (well I think all of them, but check). Avid only includes the AAX stuff with Pro Tools, and that's clear in spec sheets etc. (I actually keep meaning to grab a few for use in Logic Pro).

Nothing unusual here, Apple does not include AAX plugins for all their AU goodies in Logic Pro... etc.
