And if you’re a real tightwad like me get a Mac Pro 3.1 dual CPU model, upgrade the CPUs to max, then get 32Gb of ram for it. All told about $200-$250. Snow Leopard or Lion fits nicely on this machine (compatibility for PT9 as Digi suggests), I’m running Mavericks and PT 8.1.1 on mine. Don’t forget the SSD for the OS either Have phun!
