I am totally with William. This is an absolutely nessecary feature. William, I feel your pain. I am in the same situation right now.

Anyone who disagrees with this feature request is just trying to get under your skin. Let's all hope it is a new addition to Protools 7.0

DIGI!!!!

yo JFK -- simply not the case... I can name you a bunch of situations when you DO NOT want to edit hidden playlists.

For those of us who do music exclusively, maybe that won't happen as much as for those of us who work in post.

I agree that an OPTION would be a good thing to have, but I do not agree that the basic functionality should be changed.

Think of the number of ways to move the timebase...

I would not want to see this a feature of shuffle mode... rather, what you guys are suggesting is a NEW FEATURE - call it SNIP TIME.

Just like in StudioVision -- it cuts across tempo map, meter track, all tracks, including midi, and all hidden tracks and playlists...

BASICALLY, everything from location A to B is "snipped".

Now, consider the number of parameters that PT will have to track to do this (including an undo buffer)....

Maybe its not too late to make the PT7 wish list? Someone going to submit this?

Hi Jeremy,

Just to clarify. I too work on music exclusively. I was merely agreeing with the William and the others when they suggested that this feature be an add-on to the already existing system. I agree with you it would be ridiculous to always be editing the underlying playlists. Flexibilty is the name of the game.

If I am understanding the problem properly...try using the preference under Editing..."Matching Start Time" Takes List....""Separate Region" Operates on all related Takes.

This would be a wonderful feature for the way I (would like to) work!

17 years later, the problem still here. And it also applies on closed folders.

If anyone has a better option than deploy every project's folders and playlists, make a full selection with "ALL" group checked, and then manually add each playlist line to the selection before each cut (because even "ALL" doesn't grab it... don't release shift ) it would be lovely to know it.

Thanks everyone
