Default Bounce To Disk volume drop

Using ProTools 5.0.1, when bouncing a mix from outputs 1&2 to a split stereo set of SDII files, the volume of the new files on playback after reimporting is lower (approx. 3dB or so). The plug ins on the outputs are bypassed during playback of the new import, so it's not that . . . Anyone?

Thanks
