Default Pro Tools Software verse Cool Edit Pro

Some people seem to think cool edit pro, cubase, t-racks and other software are " better" than Pro Tools, is there anybody out there that agrees with this, or anybody that actually knows how to use Pro Tools that still thinks there's better software?

Cool Edit Pro? You're joking, right!

Having used both, I don't think that it's even fair to compare Cool Edit Pro with PT. It's been five years since I used CEP, but it was not in the same universe function-capability-usefulness wise as PT.

Unless things have changed more dramatically than I believe possible, it's no contest.

You do realize that T-racks is a piece of mastering software and Pro Tools is an editing/sequencing program, right? BTW, do they still make cool edit pro? I could never use it just because of it's cheesedick name. Oh, and for cubase, hope you can understand chinese because that's what it seems like it's written in to me.

Cool Edit is used a lot in Radio, from what I have seen... as for being better, uh.... no. IMO, it's kind of a PITA to use.

I still only record with PT but I always bounce to wavelab to burn the CD.

I am not real familiar with it but the latest versions of Wavelab appear pretty awesome. Wavelab's 'audiomontage' feature is pretty fast and easy to use for radio and Wavelab's bouncing to CD is speedy.
