New Studio with Soffit Mount Speakers
I'm currently building a new studio in commercial space, I've acquired a set of JBL LSR32 monitors which I want to soffit mount. Is there any particular angle to best place the monitors? when the monitors are laying horizontally, how many degrees inward should the monitors be tilted or angled? the width of the control room is 14 feet and the length is 22 feet.

Re: New Studio with Soffit Mount Speakers
LSR32's are desinged to be freestanding. Soffit mounting them will seriously change their response.
FWIW, we have the LSR28P's, and absolutely love them. I'm anxious to hear the new LSR6328P. |

Re: New Studio with Soffit Mount Speakers
Well, the monitor tilt, both vertical and horizontal, need to point to your listening position. You need to make an equilateral triangle. In other words, the distance between the left monitor and you, the right monitor and you, and from monitor to monitor have to be the same distance.
Soffit mounting also has some special considerations. You might want to check here http://www.johnlsayers.com/ Check out their forums. Lots of very useful information. |
