Default MIDI: Can I Lock Midi Notes?

Can I lock midi notes so they cannot be edited? I'm working with a midi drum track, and I want to lock the kicks and snares so I can manipulate the velocities of the cymbals easier. IS this possible?

what i prefer to do is, open another midi track,
copy the notes in drum track, paste them in new midi track,
delete all notes you don´t want, so on, you can have five
or more midi tracks, routed to the same midi channel, same device,
one bass drum, one snare, one toms, etc., and best for monitoring,
´cause you can mute or solo the channel you want or not to work,
it´s also better if you convert to audio, already splited drums.

One thing you may want to do is start using the MIDI Operations. You can easily select specific notes with the "Select Notes" Operation, then change velocity with the "Change Velocity" Operation, or manually manipulate only the selected notes and properties with the various edit tools. You can find the MIDI Operations in the MIDI Menu. You can also open the MIDI operations window by clicking command+3 on Mac and alt+3 on PC. The Split and Select notes operation also make the previous posters suggestions very easy to implement as well. The previous post is my general method for drum and percussion tracks as well, but there are times when I still have alot of notes that I must keep on one track, but only need to edit a certain group or selection.
