Re: PT 10.3.7 user trying to get back to 10.3.5
Thanks Albee. I will consider that option. But when I was running PT 10.3.5 or 10.3.7 before, I was able to get everything to work well together. Each application would release the 002 when I quit the app that was using it (PT, iTunes, Toast, etc). So I know that the system is fully capable of doing this seamlessly. Something happened when I decided to first upgrade from PT 8 to PT 10, and then when I decided to go back to PT 10.3.5 from PT 10.3.7. All the driver update changes must have caused something to happen. The other thing I am noticing that to me is ridiculous seems to be a lack of consistency in naming the 002 hardware as far as OSX sound prefs are concerned. Its named either Digi 002 (HW) or Avid 002. Why couldn't they be consistent? When I change the interface to Digi 002 instead of Avid 002, iTunes can't use the interface. When I change it back to to Avid 002 it works again. On the other hand, PT works with either Digi 002 or Avid 002 selected. Go figure. To me, this is a ridiculous oversight. And now I cannot get Toast to work with either interface name selected. Very frustrating, and in my opinion very ridiculous.

Re: PT 10.3.7 user trying to get back to 10.3.5
I finally got Toast to work with the 002R again!! It turned out that all I needed to do was dump the "Toast Prefs" in the HD>User>Library>Preferences folder. Now all apps work well with the 002R, PT, Toast and iTunes. Back to normal again. Also the Mac tech guy at Sweetwater was on the phone with me after I figured this stuff out (I was on hold for a while). I asked him if there was a problem running the 002/003 Drivers (ver. 11.0.0) in conjunction with PT 10.3.5, and he said that should not cause a problem because most of what the ver. 11.0.0 added was support for the 003 in PT 11. So far I have not had issues with this driver version working with PT 10.3.5.

Digi 002 is the pro tools 10 driver. Avid 002 is the pro tools 11 driver. They are names differently so you can use 10 and 11 on the same computer. the 11 driver will not work with pro tools 10 and the 10 driver will not work with 11. Chris

Hi
I had the same problem with my pt 10.3.7 freezing up. I tried this http://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/...-dpmwindows-7/ It worked for me. |
