Hi Kristo,

Unfortunately we're not able to really discuss future plans in that much detail. Sorry...we know you've all been waiting patiently for it.

Thanks for all the info guys. I think my best bet is just to wait a few weeks to make sure PT9 is in fact fully compatible and then crossgrade to that. I appreciate all the feedback and information. Thanks!

A. Pro Tools HD 8.1 (compatible with HD Core) or Pro Tools HD 8.5 (compatible with HD Native)
are required in order to use the new VENUE Link features included in VENUE 2.9 software. Pro
Tools 9 and previous versions of Pro Tools LE do not currently support the VENUE Link features.
Previously qualified versions of Pro Tools are still compatible with VENUE 2.9 for recording and
playing back audio, but do not support the VENUE Link features.

In the Venue specification I have read that is connectable with PT LE via a firewire port. I have PT LE 7.4 can I use it with Venue sc 48 ?
Is the firewire port in the Venue system a Firewire 400 or 800?
Thanx in advance

Hi Shiama.
It's a FW400 port, in all FWx, but they're compatible with FW800 ports, using an adapter.
I strongly believe it's compatible with PTLE 7.4.
A Also replyed in the other post.

At times when 7.4 was introduced there was no SC48 so for that reason 7.4 might not work but I'm sure Sheldon knows it best!

Yes, but as I post in the other thread:

Additional Requirements

The following are required to use the FWx Option Card with your VENUE system (Pro Tools LE hardware is not required):

* Avid-qualified FireWire-equipped computer running Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Mac OS X (see "Compatibility Information," below)
* Compatible Pro Tools LE software for your computer:
o Windows Vista Business or Professional: Pro Tools LE 7.4 or higher software
o Windows XP (with Service Pack 2): Pro Tools LE 6.7 or higher software
o Mac OS X: Pro Tools LE 6.9.2 or higher software

At: http://www.avid.com/US/products/FWx-Option-Card

After all, it's a FWx interface, anyway.

Regards,
MJ

Hey all,

In case it is still unclear in this thread; as of Dec 8, 2010 Pro Tools 9 is compatible with all Venue Systems, including SC48.

See the Venue and Pro Tools 9 FAQ here for more details:
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=288491

And, to confirm the above, you can connect an SC48 to a 7.4 Pro Tools system.

Hope this helps.

Aaron

So, we have to wait for X32?
Behringer's X32 with FW and PT 9's 32 ASIO I/O is about to propose MORE to the workflow than our native platform is :-0

And, BTW, The MUSIC Group is less "not able to really discuss future plans in that much detail." ;-)
