Smart tool jumping around , more PT Mac graphics issues?

So 24 years into this.. now out of the blue the smart tool jumps around from every function as I move from area to area. the trim disappears sometimes but works.
This REALLY slows things down, over hours esp with MIDI.
there was a clusterf with the black bars and meters showing up in off places back .. a year ago... and all mouse moves were sluggish.It was a complete MESS... for a "video company"?? I heard some video "tearing" whatever that was... to me it was,.a hot mess of sh.
It looks like this is creeping back.


I trash prf, I reinstalled PT.. [just deleted app and DLed 2022.10]

maybe theres a more fullsome re install method.?


parked at 22.10... since Im sitting out till summer any reinstatment, since 200$ a year for beta testing seems...egregious. to be kind.

This is a known bug with Ventura and previous versions of PT. Fixed in latest version. Workaround is to slightly re-size your edit window and the problem goes away. It will return, but resizing window fixes it.

Im not on Ventura. I'm on Monterey and have the latest PT update and this has been an issue for a while. However today I was working with a large group of files grouped and anytime it would happen it caused a crash. I had over 30 crashes today with my client sitting in which is prolly one of the more embarrassing sessions Ive had in a while. Which is why IM on here trying to solve for this immediately.

I'm afraid you may be dealing with a different issue. The problem that the original poster, and I were dealing with was definitively a Ventura graphic issue and resolved with the latest PTs update. It never cause a crash for me or anyone that I heard experiencing it.
