Help settings up BFD tracks in PT8
So I'm still pretty new to Pro Tools and trying to work my way through it. I recently installed the BFD Lite bundle that came with my purchase and was having trouble getting the individual drum pieces to be assigned to their own tracks....so I can mix and edit each drum peice seperately.
I finally figured it out using EZdrummer with Pro Tools, which was really very straightforward.....but I can't seem to find anywhere in the BFD Lite interface where you can assign outputs for each individual drum piece....I'm assuming this can be done....can anyone provide insight on how to do this?? |

Re: Help settings up BFD tracks in PT8
Hold on, hold on.
I used lite for a loooong time, and have a pretty simple (yet pretty time consuming) workaround. 1. Use BFD Lite on a stereo instrument track. Write out your entire pattern. 2. Make however many mono tracks for how ever many kit pieces you want and name them (snare, kick, etc). 3. In BFD, solo whatever piece you want to record. On the BFD track, set the output to an open bus. 4. On the "snare "track, set the input to the same output bus as BFD. 5. Record arm the Snare track and go. It takes awhile, but works. You can even make stereo audio tracks for overheads and such.

Re: Help settings up BFD tracks in PT8
Hmm....a little more work than I was hoping for...but if the drum sounds are better than what I'm getting out of EZdrummer I may give it a shot. Thanks for the tip!
