Default Zoom H4 as USB Audio I/O Interface for Pro Tools?

[XP/SP2, 2.5Ghz Processor, 4gb RAM, Pro Tools LE 8]

Can anyone tell me if I can use a Zoom h4 recorder as a USB Audio I/O Interface for Pro Tools LE 8? According to Zoom h4 documentation it is a 'standard USB audio I/O device' however when installing Pro Tools the device - which is 'on' and set to audio I/O mode - is not recognised by the process.

Do USB I/O devices need to be proprietary? Does Pro Tools support only certain devices?

Thanks,
Tim

Pro Tools only works with Digidesign interfaces. You can import the files recorded on the Zoom if you can record in wave format. But you MUST have a Digidesign interface or Pro Tools just will not open.
