What exactly is it you are emptying. Is that data of any use to us, or just waste of space?

Sparky
Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to tell you since I upgraded to version 14 at the same time which is supposed to have improved performance.

BScouts only comment in this thread is about a 'empty cahe' function in Waves Central, I think the question was about which exact files/folders are deleted in the process.
I don't have Waves Central, even though I have a couple of waves plugins, because I try to avoid these 'plugin managers' precisely because of things like this. (Agai, the horror example was with Acustica Audio storing copies of every installer demo or licensed, in a folder in my 'Documents', simply to ease up on downloading in case you needed a reinstall. Came to over 50GB in my case. I sold my three AA plugins and will never buy again.

Acustica saves the install data in a folder called "Stage area". You can put that folder anywhere you like, even on an external SSD, like I do. Or you can empty the folder after installation, if you want to. What is the problem with this? The choice is yours. Just inform yourself instead of making blatant judgements.

My issue with this specific part of AA workings is that you have to figure out for yourself why the free space on your boot disk is filling up.

And I answered that.
It's the downloads of plugin installers that Waves caches from it's installer (which is Waves Central)
Waves Central cache = the plugin installers.

Once again, it does not affect the plugin operation inside Pro Tools (because these are just downloaded installers) unless your hard drive is lacking space affecting the whole system.

I don't use Waves Central, where are these effin' files so we can delete them? That was my point. Not that it's a practical issue for me.
