PT2020 wont recognize Ableton Live11 as an Instrument

PT2020 wont recognize Ableton Live11 as an Instrument to allow syncing with ReWire.
Working with Ableton Support...all signs appear to be on the ProTools side.

Note, Although Ableton reports its ending its support of ReWire, it may be enabled using the Option.txt file. This has been confirmed by Ableton Support.

If i have (Waves) ReWire plug inserted, Ableton gives me the error message 'another ReWire application is running, please quit')

When i choose to insert it as an Instrument - Live is not an option.

So, how do I get PT to acknowledge it as an instrument?

Thank You again, Weed - i should've simply replied to the first time you showed me this.
So, i literally watched this thing - pausing thru the steps, comparing the steps - about 50 times.

When i enable Link in the Transport box, i dont get that Beat Cycle bar moving left to right, as shown in the vid

i see Ableton Link in the dropdown (checked) - Ableton is launched - just no syncing happening

(note, the ReWire comment was another method i saw somewhere - it is not inserted in this most recent test)

I've been at this subject a while now and I have a few clues on the subject. Unless I'm mistaken the new LINK feature does not route audio - it only starts/stops/and syncs Ableton live which it does well. You have to activate the "link" button in both PT2020.12 and LIVE for it to work - but again - it's not going to pass/route audio - just the transport and sync. For rewire to work you have to include a .txt file (on OSX):

Username > Library > Preferences > Ableton > Live 11.0

name the file "Options.txt" with one script line:

-EnableReWire

It did not work at first for me but today I opened Protools and the Ableton Live Stereo instrument plugin appeared again and it was routing signal. that's as far as I've gotten with it. If anyone has other experience here I'd love to hear it. Thanks

I believe Rewire is deprecated in Live 11.

Just got it working. You have to re-enable rewire if you are going to use it with ProTools and LIVE 11 by adding the 1 line preferences script I mentioned above in Ableton 11's prefs. I think this might be an issue for those of us on HDX systems as there are lots of core audio solutions (Sound Flower, Loopback etc.) Does anyone know if LINK routes audio using native core audio systems? It does not (route audio) on an HDX system. As soon as HDX takes over - there's no way (that I've been able to make work ) to get audio routed into or out of that path. If someone has a solution that would be great to hear.

This is HOPEFUL! I've been launching and re-launching, hoping it would appear!

So, i do have my Options.txt file inserted where you say! And i do have Ableton Link checked in PT2020.12

I have the transport Link clicked (blue) but no Beat Cycle activity is happening

Ableton does not show as a stereo instrument.
Perhaps one day it may show up for me as well?

It may be that the rewire instrument re-appeared for me because I tried re-installing my old, old copy of Reason 4 - which does not work on the new system but it did install some things and I'm thinking that may be why I got the Ableton Live Stereo instrument back? Really not sure to be honest - just sharing the steps I took. I do also have a Waves ReWire.bundle plugin installed but I cant see how that would have anything to do with it. Sorry - I'm hacking here with no clear answers as to why it worked but there you have it.
