Default Slate FG-X 2.0

Remember when we were going to get a 2.0 update, and then Slate just ported 1.0 to AAX?

lol

i gave up on that guy a while ago. tired of his lies.

if i am not mistaken... i used to rag him about FG-X every time he sent emails out promoting himself. i reckon the git got tired of it 'cos the mailings come as 'no reply' addresses now. (not to take ALL the credit... lol i am sure many others ragged him too)

not to mention he has long since quit replying to anything i post in forums lol reckon he don't like people rehashing old lies and stirring the mud. sadly i saw this topic and actually got excited for a sec... shame on you lol cheers

Yup, I remember the FGX thing - Virtual Update Technology. And I also remember being impressed with VMR but simultaneously let down by the way VCC was neutered in the process of porting it into VMR modules. Mixed feelings about Slate over here.

I figured something was going on at Slate headquarters when no ridiculous April Fools thing showed up in my inbox. I can only hope this is because he decided to expend more energy and resources on updating software than on making silly videos.

I love using FG-X, but it does seems to be showing its age as there are other programs (Ozone, Stealth Limiter) that can do what its pulling off without having to use have your CPU Usage.

Ozone is terrible one to use in this example. It is about the most horrid plugin there is on your CPU usage.

It would be nice to finally see this. Version 1 is definitely long in the tooth.

Slate just makes too many promises and takes forever to deliver on them if at all.

On top of that, the plugins don't have the stability you'd see from Waves/UAD/FabFilter, especially when it comes to other DAWs beyond Pro Tools.

He was doing some monthly updates on FG-X 2.0 but then that stopped.

If we ever even see an FG-X 2.0, it will likely be in 2019 at the soonest.

Yeah, I bought FGX because I was told an new version was coming soon and I would receive a free update. That was in 2014. He even boasted about how Fabrice 'cracked the code' with respect to loudness algorithms, etc.

I honestly think they the are flummoxed now that the competition has passed them.

Ozone 7, while a processor hog, is a fantastic limiter. The type IV/transient setting is excellent.

I Slate owes it to their customers to keep us updated on this. IMO it's not cool to make promises they can't deliver.

steven slate has a LOOONG history of lies. although the plugs ain't bad... i never use them anymore because i dislike the bastage so.

i never sell anything but to be honest i am debating rather hard on selling all my slate stuff. especially since my perpetual stuff is being integrated into that rack. really P'd me off that the VCC was incorporated into the rack system so you HAVE to use the rack to even use the channels
