Hey Guys,
I've searched the DUC but found nothing.... How does one (record) overlap regions without having the existing audio disappear. Destructive is non-active. For example, in DP I can record multiple layers over an existing one and if I start moving them around, the soundbite beneath it is always there. BTW, I can also use the cursor to bring the regions back together again but I'm sure there's a way of not having to do this. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Chris |

I see what you're trying to do but this is not possible in ProTools. There's no overlapping "audible" regions one one given track. Best thing to do is create another track and take care of the overlap that way.

no layers in PT
(shame that was a nice feature) the takes pop up is nice though, if you are recording several takes. ( mark a region as selection in the markers- loop recorded and then the I bar selector tool (not combi) highlight region and command click on it. select the take you want. Some preferences to change, I like splits operate on all regions. |

Thanks guys... Heres another for you too....
Why is it when I take a region and throw it over another, the region beneath it disappears. I know I can use the cursor tool to bring both pieces of the region back together again but isn't this a little weird or again I may have something checked on that shouldn't be. By the way, if it helps, I'm using 6.2.3... Thanks again, Chris |
