bus paths suddenly becoming unavailable

Ever since PT9 hit, there has been a ghost in the machine regarding IO and bus routing. Open the Setup>IO window and click on the Bus tab. Look for any buses that are routed to outputs(and SHOULD NOT be). UNcheck the right column output connection and your bus should become available again. I am constantly dealing with this and sessions that come to me from other studios. Rumor has it that it will be fixed in PT12....or 13....or

yup. i've added cleaning up the I/O
to my list of routine maintenance items i perform now
when switching systems;
along with getting rid of the "ghost" inputs on trax,
unused regions that aren't selected the first time,
re-setting the window configs every sesh,
checking my slate plugs to see which ones haven't retained their settings;

really, it's like the analog days when you had to re align the machine
before you could roll tape!

Exactly the same problem here (Protools 10.3.7, OSX 10.6.8).

Just started experiencing this same issue. Im running PT HD 10.3.10 and Buss 1 opens as “inactive” each time I open this session. I can either right click the insert and toggle back to “active” which reactivates it or go to I/O and toggle the buss off/on. This was fine up to two days ago. Can’t imagine anything’s changed. Anyone ever find the issue and permanent fix? Thanks!!
