10.3.9 MBox Digi CoreAudio Manager / PT LE hangs

hello, PT LE is hanging for me when i try to open Hardware Settings tab (no audio coming in/out either) and Core Audio Manager is crashing too whenever i try to access hardware settings like sample rate etc. this is on PowerBook G4 10.3.9.. have some of the recent security updates or even iTunes updates caused a confilct somewhere along the line? MBox works fine with my intel iMac.

Which versions of PTLE/CAD?

PT LE v 6.4 and DIgi Core Audio Manager 6.9. this problem only recently started and everything else seems fine. MBox works with 2 other comps. only thing that's changed is software (iTunes, QT, OS security updates). USB ports seem fine too. re-installed the Digi CA Manager no change... hmmmm

QuickTime 7 is a no-go with 6.4 on 10.3.9. The latest version you can use is 6.5.2. There is some info on the net about how to revert to 6.5.2 from 7+. It's not a simple process, but easier than doing a complete reinstall of everything.

Since you have an M-Box why not upgrade to Tiger/PTLE 7? I'd do that if I could, but my 001 is stuck at Panther/6.4.

arf, i've been using QT 7 for ages tho and not had any problems until these last few weeks. i'll have to look into it further.

I find that very interesting. I have not done much experimenting with QT7, but nobody here has reported any success with it so far. It usually throws a wrench in the works right away. I know I had problems with QT7 on Panther even before I put PTLE 6.4 in the mix.

Kinda makes one wonder exactly what the problem is..........

yeah i had problems with anything above QT 7.0.3 (or something similar) but that was with other audio apps i seem to recall. dunno, i'll do some digging.
