Default Digidesign Pre

I found a used Pre that was sold for parts. I powers on, but is stuck. The font panel doesn’t respond to buttons or knobs.

And your question is??? Its broken, so what were you hoping to do with it? Send it to an Avid service center to be fixed? Allproelectronics.com(based in Nashville) is one such place. If you're bold(and not easily disappointed), unplug it and open it up and look for every Molex connector inside(white nylon blocks with maybe a dozen wires) and unplug/replug every one 5-6 times and cross your fingers.

If you are wondering why, its because those connectors were used in many Digidesign products over several years and the pins and sockets would oxidize, which makes for poor connections. Don't forget the connections on the PSU too. I can't promise it will work, but you have nothing to lose

Since we have no idea what your skill/knowledge set is, I should also ask; what else do you have in your recording setup? Are you knowledgeable on how the Digi Pre gets connected and used?

Not sure if its too late, but it may be of some help.

If you connect it via midi you can control it directly from pro tools, even in the lastest versions.

Setup - Peripherals - Mic Preamps
Select "Pre"
Set the receive to and from settings

make sure to untick the box that says remote lockout.

another thing to try is:
