Default Does Avid Carbon work with Avid S1?

Hello,

I'm thinking about selling my SSL UF8 and buying an S1 instead. I've been having an issue with the UF8 causing pro tools to lag when it's being used and the DSP is nearly maxed on the carbon. Once I unplug the UF8 my computer performs well, and there's no lag at all..

Anyone else have any issues with that? I've also been unable to use my ipad as a secondary monitor since getting the Carbon as it was also causing my computer to lag... It's only 3 years old and still running well, so I guess it's just too much to run Carbon and the other peripherals.

Has Anyone had success using an S1 with a Carbon?

Thanks!

Ryan.

Works Perfectly together with Carbon !
easy to install in ProTools. You can also control the monitor section with it.

I think something else is going on with your system. Im running an M1 mac mini with 16GB of ram and I use the UF8, UC1, and the new UF1 with zero lag and no impact on DSP.

It sounds to me like you have an erroneous process or something. Did you try reinstalling the 360 software?

I have two UF8's for sale right now on Reverb, I purchased an S1 and a Dock, the S1 and Dock are as close to workflow options as my 24 Channel D-Command that I still need to sell, been sitting upstairs for a year now.

There are sooooooo many options that it takes a while to grasp all the potential of the control surface, but after that, it's simply amazing with Eucon. Eucon is also supported by Nuendo/Cubase, Logic, and a couple others. No StudioOne support, which is likely due to Presonus wanting you to buy their control surfaces.

All that said, I do love the UF8's, it would be my recommendation if someone was working a DAW that does not support Eucon.

As many humans there are, that’s how many different ways we work.
After my carbons and two S1, and working to get a handle on that, it just made me realize how much I missed an analog desk.

I’ve integrating an API 1608 into my carbon world. Still holding onto the S1s as I’ll likely find a useful way to integrate them. For all the Pro Tools and Avid bashing that goes on in this forum, Reddit and gearspace, it’s an incredible time to be a pro tools user.
