Default \"Become a Pro Tools Expert\"

I am thinking of doing this...

What will it get me?

Can I teach?

What would my chances of finding gainful employment be like?

Have any of you taken this route? Where are you now? Making some loot?

Is it a money pit?

I have a B.S. in Computer Engineering (a curriculum split between Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) and have been using ProTools LE for about 8 months. The manual is like candy to me and everything seems to click. I don't have an extensive "bag of tricks" yet but am absorbing everything I can.

I've been out of school for about a year or so and am having thoughts about making a career change and was wondering what becoming PT "Certified" would do for me. I have always been wary of "Certifications" and have always had the mantra of "Just Know Your [bleep]" but a friend (and long time ProTools TDM user) told me I was the perfect kind of person to become a "Pro Tools Expert".

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
