S6L Stage 64 Rack MADI outs
Hi All,
In a thread a while back on this board, someone mentioned that the two MADI Outs on the Stage 64 rack could be set to output 48K MADI instead of the rack's native 96K. They were asking if the MADI cards available to go in the Engine could do the same. I can't find any other mention of this ability to output 48K from the Stage Rack MADI sockets - maybe it was a confusion with DiGiCo SD racks, which can do that - or maybe it's a new addition? Can anyone confirm either way? thanks, nick. |

Re: S6L Stage 64 Rack MADI outs
I used the 48kHz output option with Stage64 succesfully last July at a festival where the local broadcaster wanted to record the show and could only run at 48kHz.

Re: S6L Stage 64 Rack MADI outs
So it exists! I can't find any mention of it on the Avid site. How do you set it? Do both BNCs become duplicate 64-channel outs like the DiGiCo ones do?
EDIT: found a new version of the s6L System guide that has this info, thanks. Last edited by njrsound; 03-13-2017 at 10:00 PM. |

Yes, both become 64 channel duplicates when set to 48k.

Re: S6L Stage 64 Rack MADI outs
Hey,
Is this confirmed? I need to go 48khz out of the MADI port 1 on the stage 64, into an Allen & Heath GLD with the MADI option card, and it's only 48k. Is there any special update, software or hardware I need to output from MADI down to 48k? And how would I go about doing that? I can't find any updated Avid guides for the stage 64. Thanks! |

Re: S6L Stage 64 Rack MADI outs
You should be able to set the SR for Stage64 MADI outs from the external screen (or from the Stage64 front panel menu).
To set it from the external screen: 1. Enable Config mode. 2. Go to Options > Devices. 3. In the Available Devices or Connected Devices column, select the Stage 64 whose MADI sample rate you want adjust so it is highlighted in blue. 4 In the Information section, select the Settings tab. 5 Under MADI, select the Sample Rate pop-up menu and choose the desired sample rate. Or you can set it from the Stage 64 front panel menus. Those instructions (and the above) are in the main VENUE S6L System Guide (on pg 64 of the version 5.4 edition). I hope this helps. M |
