No Group Fade Link in Expert Stereo Pan Mode

Can someone explain to me why there is no option to link Group Faders in Expert Stereo Pan Mode

When using mono Groups you can still create stereo groups using Expert Pan Mode but the faders still track separately. Just wondering what that is about.
