Default Laptop users... what Cardbus card are you using...

So I called up Digi support and told them of my issues with my Dell 700m. They told me to consult the previous list of supported Cardbus FW cards but I can't seem to find that. So he told me a few like the Adaptec 4300 but that's PCI. So what are fellow laptop users using?

Thanks,
Andrew

I have a belkin 3 port fw adapter, with the TI chipset, works fine.

Hmm, I looked for the Cardbus version of the 4300 but couldn't find it. I ended up buying an ADS cardbus card. Hopefully it will work.

Thanks for the reply!

I have the FireConnect, and it doesn't work with mPowered and the Ozonic. I'm assuming that the same would be true for the 002/002r, but I can't say for sure, because I haven't tried it.
Mine is one of the newer ones and does not have the Texas Instruments chipset, but I think the older ones with the TI chipset did work.

I've been using the built in port from my 6811 with no problems, though.

I did order a different brand yesterday, with the TI chipset and bus power, and I'll report back in when it arrives and I test it.

This is the one that I got.

http://www.adstech.com/products/DLX1...sp?pid=DLX181. It should be here next week.

The HP FireWire Cardbus card does NOT work. I have to return that one this weekend.

spkguitar, which card did you order? I had no clue there was a card that supported 'bus power"! could you provide a link or just a model number to the card you picked up?

thanks!

spkguitar, thanks for the reply. I checked out the url and noticed at the bottom of the page under 'technical specifications' this:
(Optional FireWire repeater is a must for Bus-Powered devices.)
looks as though my wish didn't come true, but I'll still wait for you to post back to see what really happens!

thanks again!

does the TI chipset have a specific name (like Oxford for the firewire interfaces, etc)?
