Default Cheap Laptop that can run PT8 Micro

Hey guys,

Im looking for a cheap (cheapest you know of) laptop option to run PT8 micro on for some mobile editing. Does not need to be that fancy, Just powerful enough to run PT8 and its editing capacities.
Laptop will only be used for this as i have another general use laptop (which cannot run pro tools)

Ideas?
Thanks,
Luke K

Good luck here. Laptops are a total crapshoot to begin with. Then, you SHOULD have a firewire port for your recording drive(cheap laptops don't usually have firewire and fewer have any slot for adding one). Maybe you should think about a used laptop so you can get some better features at a lower price.

Many options here. Get ANY used Lenovo/IBM Laptop and update to the latest drivers and incarnation of Windows (XPSP3).

From the T3x series and up, you have options:

T31, X31 - Single Core - ~$175 on eBay
T61, X61 - Dual Core (Best Option) - ~$300 on eBay

The Lenovos are ROCK SOLID and YES I have used them with the Micro. I'd opt for the dual cores b/c even at the prices, they are built like tanks, usually have more RAM installed, AND of course, you need the extra processing power.

I am using a laptop as per description below (don't know if available and/or cheap) - with 8.03 and mBox Micro, for editing only - works perfectly well as is
