Default is reverb one as good as PCM91?

high has anyone done a direct comparison of the two? I'm tempted by the recall of th Reverb one and the multiple instances etc... I'm not a veteran reverb user so any comments would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I could A/B them but I'd like opinions from seasoned users to give me the real low down. No.

ReverbOne is kind of cool but in my ears the PCM 91 sounds better. It's a matter of taste though....

We've got a PCM 90 and Reverb One. Reverb One is very good, but the PCM 90, if used digitally with ProTools, is a lot better in my opinion............

This is the exact conundrum I am in. (thanks for asking my question!). I've never used a PCM 91, so I don't know. Reverb one sounds much better than any of my other software plugs (d-verb, true verb and renessance rverb). But I don't know if its worth getting a PCM 91 despite the advantages of having a plug in...

I've got a PCM91 and I've tried out the Reverb One. The Reverb1 is by far the best reverb plug I've heard and although it's character is different, it gets quite close to the level of quality of my PCM91. My PCM91 is IMHO a bit better but if I were starting from scratch I would give the Reverb1 serious consideration.

I still think my PCM90 sounds better.

But in normal use it is so much easier to tweak the Reveb One parameters to get exactly what you need that this more than makes up for the small sonic difference when you listen to the reverbs in isolation..

I almost exclusively use the Reverb One now.

It's one of the best plugs. But it doesn't sound as rich as a lexicon box. 90,91 etc.. It is a little harsh and not as lush as the lexicon. Reverb is still one of the plugs that they have not yet got right. IMHO ...
Getting close, But not yet.

the Joy of outboard reverb via AES (especialy 2 engine units) is the plug in power they free up! Plus its fun to turn a knob and cheat the computer!

I hang a TCM3000 and a Eventide DSP4000 off an 888/16
An AMS RMX 16 gets i/o via an Apogee AD8000SE
