Default Getting Audio to play from an imported MIDI track.

Well I am very new to PT LE... I do know that MIDI is not an audio track and I know how to get an midi track to work just fine with one i have recorded with my keyboard. I recently imported a midi file and it is not giving me the option for an insert. It is also not giving me the option to put the output to a bus...I know this is probably a simple fix but I have been reading the manual and messing with it for like 2 hours now so i figured I would ask you gurus on here what I am doing wrong

Thanks

Zak

Also I have a screenshot that i can email to you to show you what I am talking about...if need be.

Post the screen shot on Photobucket, because I have no idea what you are talking about. And also a video of your problem if possible.

In order to use midi tracks, you have to pair them with aux tracks and insert your instruments on the aux track. I prefer to just use instrument tracks. Uploading a pic of how to use midi!

Here's the screen print. Notice my midi track named Bass is followed by an aux track with a DB-33 inserted. Once you do this, set the output of that selected midi track to the DB-33 or instrument of your choice, and your midi notes will play through it. You have to set an aux track for each midi track. Then you can bus the aux track to an audio track if you choose.

I would create a stereo instrument track above or below the midi track. Highlight all the midi track and copy, then arrow up/down(the p or ; keys) and paste the midi onto the instrument track. Now you can insert the VI of your choice.(assuming you wish to use a VI).

Midi tracks are just fine..., when used as they should be..

You can send one set of midi to multiple instrument tracks at the same time, etc....

But they are for information only, not noise
