Default New MTRX Studio installation

I am about to replace an aging Apogee Symphony with a MTRX Studio.
Its a HDX system so I assume that set up will straight forward.

Couple questions:
After setting up IO on DADMan do I have to then manually setup IO in Protools as well, matching the DADMan setup!? Not really clear from the research I did.

Next up, I have been using an aging Hearback Headphone monitor setup. Its headunit witch get fed ADAT from the Symphony, spits out Cat6 cables to feed 4 monitor boxes in the Live room. Is there a simple solution that doesn't cost thousands of dollars, to send Dante from the MTRX Studio to a couple of headphone mixers in the live room, negating the ADAT to Ethernet box?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Greetings,

If you want to have explicit names for long term analog and digital IO which is normalled (via DADman > Con) to Pro Tools via DigiLink - then yes, you would need to label the IO paths for what they are in Pro Tools additionally.

There are many different inexpensive Dante based headphone amp options. For small solutions - check out the Focusrite X2P or AM2. Up from there would be options like the KLANG and the HEAR Pro - which are a larger spend.

best,

Jeff

Thanks for the input. I was able to setup up quite easily but just needed to make sure everything was working. It needs to now get moved to the the new facility and set up properly in its permanent environment.
As for the Dante monitor boxes from Focusrite, Klang and Hear Pro. For it to replace my old Hear system with 4 mixers would put me back at least $5000!!
I think I will stick with ADAT and the old system!

One last issue I had was, when I was testing out the unit I noticed that instrument input 1 on the front panel was not letting me plug in a guitar cord
Input 2 was working just fine with the same cord. I will investigate further when the final install happens.

The KLANG quelle is what I have and absolutely love it. Fabulous quality and exceptional low latency, and around $1800 for 4 headphone mixes. All of my mixes are created in DADman in the monitor profile - contributing sources from DigiLink, TB3, Coreaudio (omnibus), Dante, DADLink, analog, etc...

I like the Quelle but I can't believe it doesn't have a power switch..... ??

Jeff - how are you controlling individual elements going to the Quelle? e.g. headphone mix 1 wants more of such-and-such.. for the PT source you can use sends but what are you doing for if they want less of another source?

With the random storm here and there, mine has been on and operational since 2018.

Yeah I would need 4 of the Klang Kontroler, for artists to mix their own monitor mix! So at $1250 a piece it would cost about $5K! Which is what my Hear system does just fine just over ADAT to Ethernet instead of Dante. Just for reference I just looked on Reverb and you can pick up the exact system I have used for $500!!

Jeff encouraged me to purchase this a few years ago an it has been fantastic in the Atmos room. Well worth it. G

you could possibly daisy chain the cheaper Focusrite headpone boxes into the Klang. I think I was looking into that and seemed to be another option all together.
