PT9 System Usage

Is the CPU(RTAS) percentage usage limited to 3gig of RAM on the computer?
I have 12 gigs installed, but from what I have read here I dont think I can use anymore RAM on PT9.01 unless I step up to HD.
IF I move to HD Native will I be able to use more RAM? This may have been covered in other threads, but I cant seem to get a clear picture on the limitations set by Avid on each system.

HD doesn't offer any more use of ram than regular PT. What some users are doing is running REAPER or other programs to run all their VI's from and then piping it into PT via re-wire. I don't do this so I couldn't give you the specifics of how it's done. Sorry.
