Default 003 Rack + Midi Problems

HI, could anyone help me get my Midi I/O input enabled? After starting a blank session in PT LE 8.0.1, when I go to the setup tab and scroll down to MIDI Input enable there is nothing showing up in the box. It should be seeing the 003 Rack + driver in there as it does on a friend of mine's system. How can I get my 003 Rack + to show up in the Midi enable box in order to use my Yamaha KX8 keyboard with all the wonderful virtual instruments? The 003 rack green light lights up under the MIDI in on the interface when the keys are depressed, but the software is not recognizing the 003 Rack + driver. How do I get the driver installed so it will be recognized by the software? Please help. Thank you.

Is MMERefresh.exe running in Task Manager? Try trashing Digidesign Databases and DAE Prefs, reboot your pc, and relaunch PT. When I had this problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled PT to fix it. You are right though, that the 003 should show up under MIDI Input Devices.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes MMERefresh.exe is running in the task manager. How would go about removing the Digidesign Databases and DAE Prefs in order to try that? sorry, I havent been running Pro Tools for very long and I'm kinda a newbie at this thing. Please accept my apologies. please advise. Thanks.

One thing to remember, Turn on your 003, turn on your midi device, (at this point will usually touch a key and watch the Midi IN light on the front of the unit to see if it lights up, then I start PT. If I start PT at the same time as the 003 my Midi devices never show up.

Peace!

Go through the General Troubleshooting thread:

http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=133039

it explains deleting the databases and preferences as well as many other optimizations you should make.

HI, yes I can see the little green light is being lit on the 003 + Interface Midi section when I depress the keys on the sequencer. The software is not recognizing the 003 rack + in the Midi input section. Thanks

Thanks, I'll go there and try to find a solution to the problems I'm having with my Midi in PT.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having the same problem with my 003 Rack - on Windows Vista and with LE 8.0.3cs2
