I was unaware that this could be an issue... is this known? Any fixes besides adding a firewire express card?
It would make sense, since I am now having DAE loading issues at startup. I think this thing is going back to Dell this week, and I'm going the Macbook Pro route.. this last week of trying to make it work has taken more than a few years off of my life. Quote:

I think this is what you need. I'm running, or trying to run, PT 6.7 off this laptop with a 002R. The 002r is working fine w/ my ableton, but PT won't start up. When I double click it, it gives me the blue screen of death. Please help!

This is a very common and asked about problem, especially with older versions of the software (i.e. 6.7)

breal, like I said in your other identical post, You need to contact Customer Service Directly:
This is a user's forum; no one here can give you that information. (not without breaking the law and the Digi EULA, anyway) Digidesign wouldn't give it to you over a public forum anyway, and you have no private contact information listed.

Hallo! I'm sure you've seen this a lot on here, because I've read about it a lot...
H/W Buffer errors!!!! My problem started about 4 days ago when I started getting "Access Violation" Errors. I could not save, and sometimes open, any session to my recording drive, the ST3200822A (186GB) listed below. Well I got on here and in the General Troubleshooting thread found a suggestion of deleting the digidesign database folders from my drives. I did that and that error did not occur anymore. However... I am unable to use PT as anything more than an overblown audio player now. I get frequent Hardware Buffer errors -6088 and -6085 I believe they are. The -6085 tells me to reduce, the -6088 tells me to increase. I get the -6088 the most and it tells me that the operating system held off interrupts for too long. I have no idea what this really means. All I know is I can listen to my tracks in PT to an extent, and can not bounce ANYTHING out. Even with no plugins up I get this error. I record at 88.2 kHz. I've done all of the optimization steps that I will admit I did not do before this problem...because well, I HAD NO PROBLEMS. Since Jan., I've not had one issue with my system until now. I had the Mbox 1 for about 3 years prior to getting my current hardware, the 002R. Not one problem outta that thing. HELP ME PLEASE. I lost $150 this past weekend because I had to cancel two sessions! Anyhow, another problem I've found is that when I'm not running PT and I'm using the 002R as my sound card, I get stops and stutters like I'm playing a scratched CD. I'm loading .wav files into my windows media player for heaven's sake! One suspicion is that I have a problem with the transfer of data from my PC to the 002R. Watching the 1394 led on the 002R, I'm finding that it blinks...which is NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN I'M SURE. I don't see any responses after these posts in here so please tell me you guys are PMing the assistance or something and we're not just posting to post here. I've been a loyal PT customer since 2002. I really would like to remain one. Thanks. Hi.
Trying to set-up an Mbox with Pro Tools LE 6.4 on a friend's PC. I've been using Pro Tools for 4 years, but never on a PC and we are having some problems with the audio. 1. For starters, I set up a click track and the click is muffled and distorted. It sounds really strange. 2. Next, when I tried to record audio using a XLRs and a a number of different Mics, I get no sound from the Mic. 3. I tried to plug a guitar directly into the Mbox and the guitar sound comes through the speakers and headphones, but it doesn't register a signal within Pro Tools. 4. I tried to import in MP3 file to an audio track so I could at least show him some editing basics, but the MP3 file comes through all distorted and muffled. - When I say distorted and muffled, think like how Charlie Brown's mom's voice sounds. I know all the connections are fine and setting on the Mbox are good. I've been using it forever, but never on a PC. I've tried multiple mics and cables. Something is happening either with the Mbox itself or within the PC that is not allowing the audio to register in Pro Tools. Here is is set-up: Dell Dimension Desktop Intel Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz 2.79GHz, 504MB of RAM Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 PLEASE HELP! |
