Default PCI Bus too busy

I have a Digi 001 System on Windows XP and am getting PCI Bus too busy error messages all the time - the thing is I got that on 98 too, but when I disabled "automatically ask for new CD" (or something) for my CD and DVD drives the error messages got away. Same on XP, if I disable both drives everything is fine, but I can't seem to find any option in XP to disable "automatically ask for new CD" and I am pretty sure this would solve the problem. Disabling the drives everytime before I start PTLE 5.3.1 is not the best option I think...Please help. XP experts!

PCI too busy is usually means that the DIGI PCI card is having to share resources with another operation. The first thing I would do is try putting the PCI card in different slots on the MB.

How big is your processor? Motherboard Bus size?

Hi,

thanks for the suggestion, but I am pretty sure it is a problem of the CD/DVD Drives, since disabling them in the system preferences solves the problem. On 98, before I updated to XP the problem went away when I unchecked the box "automatically ask for CD" (or something, can't remember it word for word), but I can't find this oprion in XP - is it available somewhere in XP?
