Default TR/Crypt.xpack.GEN2 Trojan virus in all installed ll DEA Plugins, airdistribution, ai

On 5 September 2011, I bought a Digidesign Avid recording Studio with Pro-Tools Se, I installed the files and only did a very basic recording of an instrumental song.
Howver, my Avira anti virus program reported the TR/Crypt.xpack.GEN2 Trojan virus and to have quarantained all DEA Plugins, airdistribution, airchoris, airenhancer, airflanger, airfrequencyshifter, airfuzz-wah, air lo-fi, airphaser, airreverb, airsterewidth and airvintagefilter. These files are located in ProgramFiles/common files/digidesign/DEA/plug-ins. All these files have a ‘.dpm’ ending. THis means that the effects are blanked out in my song as 'plug in not available'. So when quarantained, the effects go missing.

MS Vista does not allow a second profile with switched off AVira. There are only two options: 1: quarantaine these files to avoid the virus and loose th eeffects, or 2: tell avirus to ignore the virus and allow the files to remain, as is, with the trojan virus, which allows remote control of my computer, taking up a large part of my CPU.
Indeed, after having restored these files, my computer reported in mid-song replay that there was not enough capacity to play the song, that my ASIO Sync is not set correctly or SE does not start up and get the message that I need to connect the interface and start it up, even when it is plugged in and the blue light shows that it is 'on'.
I would like to have a clean set of these eleven AIR...dpm files, so I can use the effects without exposure to the Trojan virus.
Any suggestions? AVid.com requires a licence to ask questions and the Australian importer hasn't responded yet after a week.

its probably a false positive. As long as you got the software new and its not something on a burned DVD like you might get if you buy it used.

Why dont you uninstall Pro Tools. Run your Anti virus to make sure everything is clean. Then Re-Install Pro Tools.

Make sure your Anti Virus is up to date.

Hi, I bought it new in original AVid Recording STudio box and CD was in sealed plastic cover. I did uninstall, checked my system, all clear and on re-install got the same discovery. My Avira gets updated automatically everyday, so it is using the latest search parameters. On re-installing Pro Tools Se, system kept saying to connect hardware even though it had been connnected and, as showing by its blue light, it was on. Every day, Avira comes up with the same files as being infected and I have to instruct for one at a time to ignore, and the next time I switch my computer on, the same thing happens.
I woul dnot expect a virus on the Pro-Tools CD, but it seems that those DEA plug-in files may be from a throd party? WHen I check the CD itself, AVira does not find any virus, but when I install the CD and files get 'unpacked' to their final format, the virus is found time and again.

I googled that virus, and if I were you I would do some research on how to remove it, perhaps a complete reinstall of you OS. Then install PT.

Hi NecJamc.

I know that when I let Avira quarantaine these 11 DEA AIR files, any firther complete scan will not show up that virus. It seems that the virus resides in those files. Quatrantaining means that these effects, which seem to be the major one you would want, such as reverb, etc are then no longer available. I would be happy with a clean set of those 11 files, as obviously my disk (which is clean when scanned with AVira before installing th efiles) seems to hide that virus until the files are installed.
