While listening to a CD on a Windows 98 system, I was very impressed that the CD I was listening to had the Artist, Title, and Song Title all listed on the screen. I was using a CD player from a Utility called Gizmos '98. I then inserted one of the mass produced CD's I had mastered using MasterList CD. Up came a display that said, "Artist Unknown, Title Unknown, Track 1, Track 2 etc..." Now this is different than putting a CD in a computer and then manually entering the Title and Song Titles and then having the system bring up the information when the CD is inserted again. This Gizmos 98 program is reading the information directly from the CD. In fact, some of the higher end CD players on the market will now display this information on a built in screen. Come to find out, CD's that were mastered with Sonic Solutions, SADIE, PCM-1630 and other high end systems all have provisions for encoding this information on the CD master. MasterList CD has no such provision. So, when will MasterList CD have this capability?
It makes my masters look inferior when a client expects the same capabilities of other standard mastering systems.
